Growing up in Japan

I was born in Japan where I was always outdoors playing soccer or chasing bugs with my neighbors freely without care. Nature was abundant and we were surrounded by elders who shared their wisdom with us. At first glance, people would think that I didn't speak Japanese at all when in fact, I only spoke Japanese. I spent my college years in California where I was able to explore American culture and arts in San Francisco. I currently live in New York where I'm pursuing two of my passions, boxing and holistic medicine. My amateur boxing career has taken me as far as to qualify for the 2020 Olympic tryouts. Outside of the ring, I am also a filmmaker and a coffee enthusiast.

I began to study Ayurveda

I've always had an interest in deepening my knowledge in how holistic medicine can improve our daily lives and I'm proud to say that in 2018 at Ayurveda's World in Manhattan and one year and 150 hours of training later, I received my certification in Ayurveda Nutrition as a Holistic Counselor. I decided to study Ayurveda because I had taken many courses in nutrition, general nutrition and plant-based nutrition, and still felt like there was more to learn. Ayurveda allows me to treat each person that is unique to their body type, whereas pharmaceutical drugs are manufactured for a general population.

Being a competitive athlete who always strives to be the best possible version of myself, I wanted to explore alternative ways of healing, recovering, and the best way to improve in strength, speed, and endurance and Ayurveda has done just that by showing me real growth requires nurturing from natural resources.
